Lincoln Elementary School Programs and Events

Lincoln Elementary School provides its students many programs to enhance their learning experience.  Please find below a description of the many programs available.  If there is a program or idea you think would benefit the Lincoln Community, please email us

 

Extended LearningBefore and After school programs led by Lincoln staff

 

Fall Welcome Back Party:  A family picnic event held at Lincoln Playground in the fall.  This event has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

Book Sale/Ice Cream Social:  Parents and students get a chance to browse and purchase books (a % of sales supports the Lincoln Library).  Kids also get a chance to sample Ice Cream (5th Grade fundraiser) 

 

Fall/Spring Clean-Up:  Parents and Lincoln School Leadership come together to help plant some flowers and spruce up Lincoln.  There is a Fall clean-up and Spring planting event every year.

 

Winter Concert:  There are two winter concerts.  January concert features the Kindergarten through 2nd Grade students.  March concert features a performance by the third-fifth grade students. 

 

Student Mentor Program:  A program for fourth and fifth grade students to partner with adult mentors to learn about potential careers.  Students work with their mentors over several months to learn about their field of interest, and present their experience to the Lincoln community one evening in April.

 

STEAM Night (Math Mania):  An interactive STEAM event featuring engaging science, technology, engineering and math activities for K-5 children and their families.

 

Health Fair: All Lincoln students get a chance to explore different topics related to their health.  Samples of stations include:   Martial Arts, Healthy Teeth, Meditation, Healthy Art, Boot Camp and Music for the Soul.  This event is organized by Andrea Batinelli and Michelle Mecurio

 

Family Pizza & Bingo Night:  A fundraiser for 5th Grade, this is a fun family event for all

 

Authorfest:  A town-wide Elementary school event designed by librarians to strengthen Winchester students' love of reading and writing.  More than 20 children's book authors visit Winchester schools in April to talk about writing and illustrating books.

 

Spring Picnic:  A family picnic event held at Lincoln Playground in the spring (with a DJ spinning tunes for kids to dance)

 

May Day Concert:  The spring concert centers around May Day and features each of the grades performing a different May Day song-tradition

 

Field Day: Full day of fun, games and physical activity.  Students get a chance to get moving in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere.  This event is organized by Andrea Cogan

 

Grade Specific Enrichment Programs:  Parents help fund a wide range of enrichment programs for Kindergarten through Fifth grade.  See the Enrichment Page for a detailed list of programs
